Il fatto di "seguire" gli altri, la massa, elimina la possibilità di pensare, la responsabilità di dover scegliere e significa non rischiare, assicurandosi la tranquillità di non perdere ma nemmeno di vincere: questo è ciò che accade chi non si mette in gioco.
Ecco, Matteo a 21 anni è l'esempio di cosa significhi non sentire la necessità di essere un follower tirando dritto per la propria strada e facendolo tranquillamente, con preparazione e convinzione. Forse l'avere ricevuto fiducia dai propri genitori, essere stato libero di seguire le proprie passioni e probabilmente il fatto di non aver subito pressioni familiari che lo spingessero a seguire le orme del padre, che è un perito agrario, lo hanno aiutato. Concedere ai propri figli la fiducia, il fatto di non proteggerli costantemente da tutto e da tutti, lasciare loro la possibilità e la responsabilità di sbagliare e di ritentare, sono aspetti che aiutano sempre e che credo abbiano dato vita al Matteo, libero di agire, che ha poi seguito desideri e passioni. Dapprima grazie al padre e in seguito nell'orto del nonno dove è nato il suo coraggio di mettere in pratica qualcosa di differente, agevolato dal fatto che quel terreno fosse ricolmo dell'entusiasmo dell'anziano signore, Matteo, seguito dal nonno, inizia così a coltivare antiche varietà di frumento, ma lo fa con un progetto molto ambizioso: coltivare e custodire quelle spighe come fossero all'interno di una sorta di "biblioteca del frumento". Grano del miracolo, farro monococco, gentil rosso e poi i tentativi con lo zafferano, pratiche che non facevano altro che consolidare il rapporto di Matteo con la terra, al punto che, con le idee sempre più chiare, diventa un perito agrario e continua gli studi per ulteriori 2 anni specializzandosi in agricoltura biologica e biodinamica.

At that point, with his ideas clearer and clearer, he enrolled in the school of agricultural expert and continued for 2 more years to study organic and biodynamic agriculture.
"Vado avanti ancora oggi a seminare grano con lo scopo di migliorare il frumento e lo faccio selezionando di anno in anno le spighe più adatte alla risemina, collaborando anche con un progetto agroecologico veneto molto importante e che si chiama Consemi . Non posso che stupirmi per quanto Matteo a 21 anni abbia indubbiamente le idee chiare, ma la vera ricchezza che porta con sé, a mio avviso, è il suo rapporto con la terra, con il suo terreno e habitat che mostra come lui oltre ad essere contadino diventi allo stesso tempo custode di un ambiente da tutelare garantendone il suo futuro: quello del suo territorio e della sua comunità.

Matteo sa molto bene che i preparati biodinamici sono fatti di una sostanza viva e ricca di microrganismi. L’azione di questi microrganismi rende il terreno capace di fissare e sfruttare un giusto equilibrio tra elementi chimici e fisici, gestendo le azioni naturali della terra insieme a quelle fisiche della luce, dell'acqua e fissando in modo corretto l’azoto. Questa è la condizione ideale per ottenere un ambiente sano e fertile, dove poter coltivare con metodi naturali e cercare di evitare che le piante si ammalino.
The biodynamic preparations we are are something alive, they are a substance rich in microorganisms. The action of these microorganisms makes the soil capable of a balance between chemical and physical elements, managing the natural actions of the earth and light, fixing nitrogen correctly. This is the ideal condition of a healthy and fertile environment, where you can cultivate plants with natural methods, trying to prevent them from getting sick.
Sarebbe veramente un peccato non approfittare di un prezioso custode del territorio come lui che lavora per cercare continuamente l'equilibrio naturale tra le capacità del suo terreno e la forza delle biodiversità. Gli alimenti che crea possiedono un alto valore nutrizionale che non ha nulla a che vedere con i cibi prodotti dalle industrie, alle quali interessa esclusivamente produrre, produrre e ancora produrre devastando le terre con la chimica di sintesi pur di trarre profitti economici sempre maggiori. In definitiva, è solo grazie a persone come Matteo e Chiara che abbiamo la possibilità di nutrirci senza consumare l'ambiente ma addirittura restituendogli benessere: il risultato è che la nostra salute alimentare e quella della terra non deperiscono.

The result is that food health and the environment don't perish.
