(Ita-Eng) Ovunque posi i miei piedi, quella è la mia terra/ Where ever i lay my feet that's my soil

Il cammino di Isabella e Dimitri è iniziato con una presa di coscienza in coppia nata dalla voglia di capire come alimentarsi in maniera sana e consapevole, per poi sfociare verso il passo successivo che li ha portati a creare alimenti puliti per l'autoproduzione e in seguito a costruire un luogo ecologicamente e ambientalmente integro; esperienza utile per il presente e per il futuro del loro territorio e della comunità che si serve degli alimenti che producono in maniera totalmente naturale, il che significa che lo fanno con molto, ma veramente tanto lavoro manuale.

Dimitri and Isabella's rural path started with the couple's awareness that began with the desire to understand how to feed in a healthy and conscious way and then led to the next step that led them to create food by building a place ecologically and environmentally, clean for the present and future of their territory and the community that uses the foods they produce in a totally natural way: which means with a lot, really a lot of manual work.

Possono affermare a pieno titolo che ovunque loro posino i piedi quella sia la loro terra; non solo perchè la possiedono visto che l'hanno acquistata, ma soprattutto per il fatto di essere stati capaci di compiere quell'antico miracolo che rappresenta l'unica via per dare alla natura una direzione: collaborare con le sue fortissime capacità e la sua indipendenza.

They can affirm the fact that wherever they put their feet that is their land. Not only because they own that soil since they bought it, but above all because they were able to perform that ancient miracle which is the only way to give nature a direction by collaborating with its very strong skills and independence.

E invece, nel tempo, ci siamo scollegati da quella natura che per noi significa vita e lo abbiamo fatto credendo di essere i più intelligenti senza capire che siamo solo una parte di un enorme sistema intelligente che avrebbe la necessità del nostro aiuto come noi del suo; questi due ragazzi lo hanno compreso fino in fondo, per questo motivo cercano di dare alla terra che lavorano un nuovo aspetto, una nuova possibilità che le restituisca tutte le capacità e gli equilibri per potersi nuovamente ricongiungere con una vita autonoma: in fondo è quello che è successo anche a Dimitri e Isabella dopo avere deciso di voltare pagina.

We have long since disconnected from that nature that is everything to us and we did it believing that we are the most intelligent without understanding that instead we are a part of a huge much more intelligent system but the two of them have realized this and try to give to the land that they work a new aspect, a new possibility that gives it back all the skills and equilibrium to be able to reunite with autonomous life again: after all, this is what happened to Dimitri and Isabella when it's been time to turn the page.

"Vedi Furio io e Isabella facevamo un altro mestiere; io lavoravo nell'industria metalmeccanica e Isabella faceva la massaggiatrice. Poi nel 2008 la forte crisi industriale, che tutti abbiamo vissuto, ci ha portati a trasferirci di casa e a coltivare un giardino annesso di 300 mq". Ma le cose iniziano a funzionare quando scivolano come l'olio, vanno avanti e tu quasi le segui mentre loro ti conducono ma non puoi farne a meno, per cui quel piccolo giardino di colpo non è stato più sufficiente e proprio in quel momento decidono di acquistare del terreno e fondare la loro azienda agricola.

"Isabella and I did a completely different job; I worked in the metalworking industry and Isabella was a masseuse. Then in 2008 the strong industrial crisis that we all experienced led us to change home and cultivate the 300 square meter garden for the self-production of food " But things start to work when everything goes smoothly as if you almost follow them because you can't do without, so that little garden suddenly was no longer enough, and it is precisely at that moment in 2012 that they bought some land and founded their farm.

"Abbiamo fatto molti corsi per assimilare tecniche non invasive, per comprendere come rispettare il terreno cercando di creare le potenzialità per il suo futuro mantenendolo pulito. Per cui abbiamo imparato cosa significa sinergia, cosa è una food forest, come adottare la permacultura, come utilizzare al meglio l'acqua, il legname delle piante, tutte nozioni che ci permettono di lavorare la terra rigenerandola, sfruttando la parte boschiva incrementandola e soprattutto introducendo man mano piante perenni come ad esempio il castagno: piante che possono creare sostentamento senza necessità di estenuante lavoro manuale in previsione del nostro invecchiamento"

“We took many courses, Isabella and I to learn non-invasive techniques, to understand how to respect the earth and create the potential for its future by keeping it clean. So we learned what synergy means, what a food forest is, how to adopt the principles of permaculture, all studies that allow us to work the land by regenerating it, exploiting the wooded part by increasing it and above all by introducing perennial plants such as the chestnut trees, plants that can create sustenance without the need for exhausting manual labor in anticipation of our aging"

Dimitri e Isabella vivono in una zona prealpina a Lentiai in provincia di Belluno non lontano dal Piave. Lì tutto diventa più difficile per un contadino soprattutto a causa del freddo e della neve ed è per questa ragione che la loro terra se aiutata con tecniche agroecologiche, agroforestali e permaculturali, recuperando l'acqua piovana, utilizzando strumenti manuali che non stressino il terreno, difendendo le biodiversità, diventa più forte e rende molto meglio nei mesi in cui non è a riposo ma produce.

Dimitri and Isabella live in a pre-Alpine area in Lentiai in the Belluno province not far from the Piave river; there everything becomes more difficult for a peasant especially because of the cold and snow and that is why their land if helped with agroecological, agroforestry and permacultural techniques, recovering rainwater, using manual tools that do not stress the soil and defending biodiversity, it becomes stronger and performs much better in the months when it is not at rest but produces.

"Iniziato il progetto sul nostro terreno nel quale per tutto ciò che coltiviamo creiamo i semi autonomamente, abbiamo pensato: perchè non cercare famiglie della nostra comunità per le quali diventare i loro contadini? E pian piano provando a sensibilizzare la gente del posto, nel tempo, siamo riusciti ad avere un rapporto consapevole e condiviso con quelle che a tutt'oggi sono 55 famiglie (ma circa altre 30 attendono di poter partecipare) quei nuclei famigliari che si sono associati al progetto di costruire una C.S.A. , cioè una comunità di persone a supporto dell'agricoltura per cui con un contributo economico comune le famiglie ogni stagione si garantiscono l'approvvigionamento settimanale di alimenti che noi consegnamo in cassette a casa loro: per questo siamo diventati i contadini della nostra comunità".

Ma questo fa si che il consumatore diventi fondamentale grazie al gesto di acquistare in prossimità alimenti provenienti da terre sane che trasforma il semplice atto di fare la spesa in una maniera per guadagnare salute personale salvando l'ambiente del proprio territorio. Ficcatevelo in testa perchè la sola strada che rimane da percorrere è quella di acquistare in prossimità alimenti nati in terre pulite, che tali rimarranno e l'ambiente ringrazia :)

“We started the project on our land where we independently create seeds for everything we grow and we thought, why not create a short supply chain and not look for families in our community for which to become their farmers? And slowly we tried to raise awareness among the local citizens and over time we managed to have a conscious and shared relationship with what are currently 55 families, but about 30 are queuing up and waiting to be able to participate, families who have joined the project to build a C.S.A. which is a community of people supporting agriculture, for which with a common initial expense the families every season guarantee themselves the weekly supply of food that we deliver in crates to their home: for this we have become the farmers of our community". But this means that the act of buying nearby and in healthy land transforms the simple act of shopping into a way to gain personal health by saving the environment of one's territory:

get it into your heads folks because it's the only path we have to follow... Feeding us buying proximity food born in healthy soils and the environment will thank you all :)

"Posso testimoniare insieme alle famiglie iscritte che la nostra C.S.A. Terra Viva non significa esclusivamente terre sane e alimenti genuini, ma anche nuovi rapporti perchè diventa un modo per attivarsi socialmente con eventi che organizziamo in loco come l'esposizione dei lavori di artisti nell'orto, oppure la didattica degli alimenti e della coltivazione spiegata agli alunni delle scuole per mezzo di esperienze organolettiche e non solo..."

"Our CSA "Terra Viva" does not only mean clean agriculture and genuine food, but also new healthy relationships, because it is a way to become socially active with events that we organize on site such as the exhibition of artists' works in the garden, or the teaching of food and cultivation explained to school pupils with organoleptic experiences and more ... "

Come spesso sostengo, il concetto di biodiversità lo applichiamo alla natura e quindi mentre leggete queste mie parole la prima idea che vi affiora nella testa sono sicuro che non comprenda anche noi esseri umani che invece facciamo parte di quella stessa natura! Prima ancora che nel terreno quell'esempio di biodiversità dovremmo rappresentarlo noi grazie alle nostre idee e azioni consapevoli servendoci di alimenti di prossimità senza generare "danno alla terra", tonnellate di plastica di rifiuti, consumi energetici alle stelle, inquinamento spropositato e rapporti di lavoro basati sullo sfruttamento... Lo so, sono concetti grandi, si può pensare "com'e' possibile cambiare il mondo grazie a due persone lassù nelle prealpi insieme alla loro terra e ad un pugno di famiglie?" Ma secondo voi perchè questi due ragazzi fanno una fatica enorme per coltivare "a mano" la loro terra pur di realizzare un progetto leale e che sta dando vita ad un habitat che probabilmente sopravvivrà a entrambi? Lo stanno facendo affinchè quelli che non comprendono abbiano la possibilità di cambiare migliorando la qualità dell'alimentazione e salute, della terra, dell'ambiente, delle relazioni interpersonali e della propria coscienza sociale, ma come mi sostiene Dimitri "Cambiare è una responsabilità vostra che noi non possiamo inoculare, dipende dalle persone...". Isabella e Dimitri sono forti, puri e hanno le idee molto chiare, questo è il motivo per il quale rappresentano una ricchezza inestimabile per la comunità dove vivono e davvero spero che saranno di ispirazione per prossime realtà e iniziative che ci aiutino a ristabilire definitivamente un rapporto leale con una natura che non ce la fa più.

RAGAZZI, NON MOL-LA-TE!

As I often say, the concept of biodiversity applies to nature but as you read these words, the first idea that arises in your head, I am sure it does not include us human beings too, who instead are part of that same nature! Even before that example of biodiversity is in the ground, we should represent it thanks to our conscious ideas and actions, using proximity foods without generating "damage to the earth", tons of plastic waste, skyrocketing energy consumption, disproportionate pollution and employment relationships based on exploitation ... I know, they are great concepts, you can think "how is it possible to change the world thanks to two people up there in the pre-Alps together with their land and a handful of families?" But in your opinion why these two guys do an enormous effort to cultivate their land "by hand" in order to carry out a loyal project that is giving life to a habitat that will probably survive both? They are doing it precisely for those who do not understand but thanks to them they have the opportunity to changing and improving the quality of nutrition and health, the environment and one's social conscience. Isabella and Dimitri are strong, pure and have clear ideas, this is the reason why they represent an inestimable wealth for the community where they live and I really hope that they will be an inspiration for future realities and initiatives that will help us to definitively re-establish a loyal relationship with a nature that can no longer take it.
