(Ita-Eng) Nutriamoci con cibo intelligente / Let's eat intelligent food

Sono stato a Bologna, per conoscere questa nuova realtà che potrà sicuramente diventare la diretta evoluzione dei GAS, i gruppi di acquisto solidale. Ho scoperto un mondo e un modo nuovo per alimentarci in maniera sana, comunitaria, consapevole; detto più semplicemente se vi iscrivete e comprate una passata di pomodoro, oltre che essere buona e mangiarvi un sano piatto di pasta (vendono anche quella nello spaccio), accadranno una moltitudine di cose, al di fuori del negozio e del vostro piatto di pasta: ma andiamo per gradi.

I have been to Bologna, to get to know this new reality which will surely become the direct evolution of GAS, the solidarity purchaising groups; I discovered a world and a new way to eat in a healthy, community, conscious and supportive way; in a more simply way, if you join the community and buy a tomato puree, as well as being good and eating a healthy plate of pasta (they also sell organic pasta in the shop), a multitude of things will happen outside the shop and outside your plate of pasta that you can't even imagine it. But let's go on explain step by step ...

Sostenibilità, autoproduzione, cooperative, gruppi solidali di acquisto, comunità a supporto dell'agricoltura, orti sociali e collettivi, foreste alimentari, sono tanti i modi per affrontare il rapporto con i cibi sani e l'alimentazione partendo da principi etici e guarda caso i migliori esempi prevedono "lo stare insieme" e il coinvolgimento della collettività; ma non è sempre così facile cercare e trovare, vicino a noi, alimenti autentici che rispettino le regole che tengono onestamente in piedi una filiera alimentare nel rispetto della terra e del suo futuro ma anche di chi la lavora e di coloro che consumeranno i suoi prodotti.

Sustainability, self-production, cooperatives, solidarity purchaising groups, communities supporting agriculture, social and collective gardens, food forests, there are many ways to deal with the relationship with healthy foods and nutrition starting from ethical principles and coincidentally the best examples take place "being together" and thanks to the involvement of the community; but it is not always so easy to look for and find authentic foods near us that respect the rules that honestly set up a food chain above all in respect of the earth and its future but also of those who work that same land, and those who will consume its products .

L'emporio di comunità Camilla, è un esempio chiaro e forte di come possa funzionare, diciamo così, un supermercato autogestito, uno spaccio, un negozio, un punto vendita al quale possono acquistare solamente i soci che versano una quota, una tantum, e che quindi non solo possono accedere all'acquisto di prodotti sani e particolarmente rispettosi dell'ambiente (esistono i cibi sfusi) e delle filiere corte, della sostenibilità, del lavoro di chi li raccoglie, ma gli iscritti saranno anche parte attiva di un processo di socializzazione e solidarietà che darà buoni frutti non solo ai soci.

The Camilla community emporium,in the San Donato district, in Bologna, is a clear and strong example of how, let me say, a self-managed supermarket can be accessed only by members who pay a lump sum fee and therefore not only can access the purchase of healthy and particularly environmentally friendly products (there is also the corner of bulk foods), which represent short supply chains and sustainability, but the members will be an active part of a process of socialization that will bear fruit not only for the members.

Food Coop è forse il termine più esatto e negli States, dove le Food Co-op sono molto diffuse, ormai si contano vere e proprie catene di punti vendita di comunità tutti delle stesse cooperative che soddisfano le medesime comunità di iscritti. Questo tipo di cooperative del cibo hanno un significato e uno scopo incisivi e chiari che, a mio parere, sono il cuore dell'incontro tra la possibilità di avere delle alternative alimentari, sane, disponibili e accessibili e l'inizio del contrasto alla grande distribuzione organizzata; organizzata si, ma solo per se stessa. In aree geograficamente isolate, ma con quartieri che creano una base di consumatori sufficiente per supportare la nascita di un grande supermercato, in risposta agli stessi supermercati e al loro monopolio sui prodotti alimentari, può nascere come alternativa intelligente una Food Coop con un emporio di quartiere grazie ad una rete di consumatori. Da li in poi altri punti vendita si potranno insediare, tra i palazzi dei quartieri, evitando che si creino migliaia di metri quadrati di cemento e le speculazioni edilizie attigue che rubano terra alla ruralità e al benessere ambientale, in maniera che gli abitanti dei quartieri non debbano spostarsi verso i punti vendita delle varie catene o nel grande centro commerciale: tutte realtà di grande distribuzione che alimentano un ciclo di non sostenibilità (produzioni prodotti e trasporti di merci), di inquinamento (plastica), di sprechi e meramente di profitti a discapito della qualità di vita futura.

Come mi spiegano i responsabili di Camilla, i soci pagano un'iscrizione iniziale, una tantum, valida per sempre; grazie all'iscrizione si potrà fare la spesa all'interno dell'emporio. La comunità è impegnata su vari fronti soprattutto all'esterno dell'emporio come il progettare o il promuovere iniziative nate dal lavoro di più produttori associati in maniera solidale. Stiamo parlando di un risultato, che la cooperativa ha raggiunto, come quello di POMILLA che raccoglie materie prime biologiche da un gruppo di contadini i quali insieme forniscono pomodori per la trasformazione e produzione dei vasetti di passata venduti esclusivamente nello spaccio di Camilla.

As Camilla's managers explain to me, members pay a one-off initial membership which is valid forever; thanks to the registration they can go shopping inside the Camilla store. The community is engaged on various fronts, especially outside the store, such as designing or promoting products born from the work of several producers associated in solidarity. We are talking about a result, which the cooperative has achieved, such as that of POMILLA which collects organic raw materials from a group of farmers who together supply the tomatoes for the processing and production of jars of tomato sauce sold exclusively in the Camilla shop.

Poi c'è il caffè TATAWELO che rappresenta un progetto per prefinanziare la produzione di caffè all'interno delle comunità indigene del Chiapas messicano, che lottano da anni per vivere liberi rispettando la propria cultura. Il prefinanziamento è uno strumento potente alla base di ogni economia solidale che grazie ad una filiera chiara può connettere produttori del Sud e consumatori del Nord del mondo, in maniera da eliminare i meccanismi di prestiti e i conseguenti interessi bancari. Un meccanismo possibile a qualsiasi latitudine e la comunità Camilla accoglie anche questo tipo di iniziative. Poi ci sono gli eventi esterni per fare incontrare e riflettere gli associati sui temi più sensibili, ma anche appuntamenti di svago e festa.

Then there is the TATAWELO coffee which represents a project to pre-finance the production of coffee within the indigenous communities of Mexican Chiapas, which have been fighting for years to live free and respecting their culture. Pre-financing is a tool at the basis of every solidarity economy which, thanks to a transparent supply chain, is able to connect producers from the South and consumers from the North of the world in order to eliminate the mechanisms of loans and bank interest and this can happen all over the world: Camilla's community it's also part of this type of initiative. And then external events to make associates meet and reflect on the most sensitive issues, but also moments of leisure and celebration.

La grande idea concreta e stabile che risiede alla base di questo modo di alimentarsi comunitario, è il fatto di avere un progetto perpetuo che potrà continuare nel futuro evitando di "consumare" nel presente le risorse di qualsiasi tipo: la Food Coop è dei soci e lavorando per se stessa lo fa per gli stessi iscritti.

The great concrete and stable idea that lies at the basis of this way of community food is the fact of having a pepetuo project that can continue in the future avoiding "consuming" the present and resources of any kind, the Food Coop is made of members and working for herself she does it for the same members.
