Mindfull eating, sostenibilità, autoproduzione, cooperative, gruppi solidali di acquisto, sono tanti i modi per affrontare il rapporto con i cibi sani e l'alimentazione, ma non è sempre così facile cercare e trovare alimenti autentici vicino a noi che rispettino le regole che tengono onestamente in piedi una filiera alimentare sia nel rispetto di chi lavora la terra che nel rispetto di chi consumerà quei prodotti. Una piccola precisazione va anche fatta sul benedetto "km 0"... Quello autentico dovrebbe risiedere nelle nostre teste, mentalità e abitudini derivando da un nostro comportamento; intendo dire che il km "nullo" bisognerebbe che fosse lo spostamento che NON FANNO gli alimenti del contadino perchè noi dedichiamo, ove possibile ma se lo è poi lo facciamo, una mezza giornata del nostro tempo ogni settima per spostarci e ANDARE da un contadino vicino. E' questo atteggiamento che renderebbe quel km 0 rurale realmente assente e oltretutto ci farebbe stare molto meglio in maniera più consapevole: a mio parere solo così potrebbe diventare in seguito un vero modo per nutrirsi coscientemente e non, ad esempio, il "mindfull eating" quella bella trovata marketing per vendere manuali, libri e cibo costoso dandogli quella nuova e fin troppo obliterata veste green-washed. Tanti pensieri iniziano a sfarfallare nella mia mente, mentre metto i piedi sulle terre di "Semi di comunità" , una comunità fatta di gente comune, famiglie, molti giovani, con all'interno del gruppo qualche figura chiave che sa come coltivare e gestire le risorse del loro terreno. "Semi di comunità" è una CSA e cioè una Comunità a supporto dell'agricoltura e viceversa, una formula che negli States intorno al 1980 iniziò ad affermarsi prima come pulsione e poi in quanto organizzazioni nate per contrastare le pessime abitudini alimentari statunitensi, soprattutto in Canada; oppure che in Giappone, 20 anni prima rispetto agli USA, nacque sotto il nome di Teikei una sorta di nostro Km "0" diventata prima un'abitudine di spesa genuina, poi un rapporto tra produttore e consumatore che nella cutura del sol levante si trasformò in un'idea per creare una condivisione alternativa e che non dipendesse dal mercato convenzionale della grande distribuzione. Ma ad un certo punto mi siedo di fronte a Saverio, schiaccio il tasto REC e lo ascolto parlare: lui si occupa di tutta la parte agricola nella loro CSA con l'aiuto di Riccardo...
Food awareness, sustainability, self-production, cooperatives, solidarity buying groups, there are many ways to deal with the relationship with the supply of healthy food and nutrition, but it is not always so easy to search and find authentic food near us respecting rules who honestly maintain a food supply chain both to those who work the land and to those who consume such food. A small clarification should also be made on this blessed "km 0". The authentic should reside in our heads, mentalities and habits deriving from our behavior; I mean that the "zero" should be the shift that the farmer's food does NOT do, because we dedicate ourselves, where possible, but even if it is almost possible, then we have to do it because it means that it takes half a day of our time every week to go to buy in the land of a nearby farmer. It is this attitude that would make us feel much better in a more conscious way: in my opinion, starting in this way can later become the real way to feed ourselves consciously and not in the mood of the more modeled "conscious consumption". So I firmly believe that "conscious consumption" is just a good marketing gimmick to sell manuals, books and expensive food, giving them a new false identity of green washed foods advertised as the best natural products on the market. These and other thoughts start to flicker in my mind, as I put my feet on the ground of "Semi di comunita" a community made up of ordinary people, families, young people, with some key figures within the group who know how to cultivate and manage resources of their land. This is a so-called CSA (supported agricultural community), which is a community in support of agriculture and vice versa, a formula that in the United States around 1980 began to establish itself as a drive and therefore as organizations against bad eating habits of the American people; or even that in Japan, 20 years earlier than the America, a sort of the Italian "Km 0" was born under the name of Teikei, which became a habit, a relationship between producer and consumer which in the culture of the rising sun represented an idea to create a alternative distribution and which did not depend on the conventional large-scale distribution market. But at a certain point I sit in front of Saverio, I press the REC key and I listen to him speak: he takes care of the whole agricultural part of their CSA with the help of Riccardo ...
"Bisogna partire dal fatto che sono nato in Bolivia e per tre anni sono stato vicino a mio padre, Maestro di scuola, mentre si occupava di progetti di volontariato fatti per aiutare alcuni piccoli paesi collocati a 4000 metri d'altezza, proprio nell'ambito agricolo e di allevamento nell'ottica di rendere gli abitanti indipendenti e autosufficienti. Rientrati in Italia mio padre fonda una cooperativa sociale agricola biologica e io nonostante i miei studi artistici che stavo cercando di portare avanti dopo il liceo, non so perchè ma, ad un certo punto, ho vissuto un ritorno di fiamma nei confronti della ruralità e sono rientrato a casa dicendo che avrei voluto iniziare anche io il mio percorso contadino e così è stato perchè per 5 anni ho lavorato con mio padre in quella cooperativa. Tutto questo accadeva in provincia di Bergamo, in Val Serina, dopodichè ho conosciuto una donna romana con la quale ci siamo trasferiti quasi subito quì a Roma; io iniziai a lavorare in vari ambiti come in un agriturismo, in una cooperativa agricola dove ho imparato a non fare più il "figlio dell'agricoltore" ma al contrario ho iniziato ad avere ruoli di responsabilità nella produzione agricola e quindi con maggiore libertà d'azione e crescita professionale. Tre anni dopo queste vicende nasce l'incontro con una comunità sociale che aveva molti progetti in differenti ambiti tra i quali anche quello agricolo; io feci una proposta ma mi mancava un format realizzativo e avevo necessità di un aiuto, di reperire del know how. Casualmente nella mia posta in quel periodo arriva una mail che mi fa intravedere una possibilità di realizzazione perchè la mail parlava di Arvaia il primo esempio in Italia di agricoltura a supporto della comunità ed è stata proprio questa la CSA che infatti, dopo i primi contatti, ha iniziato ad aiutarci nella realizzazione del progetto sia dal punto di vista agricolo che da quello gestionale"
"Alla base del nostro stare insieme, in cooperativa, esiste la consapevolezza del fatto che i soci consumatori partecipino alle quote del raccolto per cui noi tutti mettiamo nella <cassa comune> i soldi che poi serviranno per seminare e che daranno diritto ai kg settimanali di prodotti per ciascun iscritto e per tutto l'anno di iscrizione: io lavoro per la comunità ed è come se fossi una sorta di contadino di comunità. Esistono anche una parte di soci che versano una quota minore e non partecipano all'approvvigionamento alimentare ma possono assistere e fare le semine, le raccolte e qualsiasi altro evento che organizziamo sul nostro terreno al di là dell'agricoltura, come pranzi sociali, corsi di educazione rurale, di tecniche di potatura, corsi per costruire forni a terra cruda e tanti altri. Questo è il nostro primo anno quindi per ora lavoriamo 3 ettari a ortaggi e abbiamo anche 2.5 ettari di bosco per l'approvvigionamente della legna e che utilizzeremo meglio in futuro; diciamo che è come se avessimo un grandissimo orto comune anche se l'idea è quella di crescere piantando alberi da frutto e magari tenendo anche della galline per le uova. Io mi occupo della parte un pò più agricola mentre Riccardo ha un'esperienza maggiore in campo arboreo e anche gestionale intendo dire proprio nell'organizzare persone e gruppi lavoro"
"At the basis of our being together, in our a cooperative, there is an awareness of the fact that members participate in the shares of the crop since from the sowing so we all put <in the common pocket> the money that it will allow us to buy seeds, to cultivate and that will entitle to kg weekly vegetables for each member and for the whole year of enrollment. I work for the community as if I were a sort of community peasant. There are also a part of members who pay a smaller share and they do not participate in food consumption but they can assist and do the sowing, harvesting and partecipate to any other event that we organize on our land beyond agriculture such as some social lunches, rural education courses, pruning techniques and many others courses. This is our first year so we here for now we work 3 hectares of vegetables and we also have 2.5 hectares of woods; we say that it is as if we had a very large common vegetable garden and the idea is to grow by planting fruit trees and maybe also keeping some chickens for eggs. I take care of the more agricultural part while Riccardo has more experience in the arboreal and managerial field, I mean organize people and work groups"
"Nella nostra CSA ci troviamo tutti insieme verso la fine dell'anno e decidiamo che cosa seminare considerando anche ciò che non ha funzionato e che cosa invece continuare a fare. In un secondo incontro si procede a presentare un business plan di produzione al gruppo dei soci fruitori che contribuiranno alla spesa delle semine e poi avranno la possibilità di ritirare il cibo settimanalmente e per tutta l'annata successiva; in questa fase subentra anche Fabrizio che è colui che si occupa maggiormente della parte fiscale della nostra cooperativa. A febbraio dell'anno successivo avviene la cosiddetta asta delle quote ed è questo il vero strumento sociale che ci rende unici nel nostro genere, perchè sulla base dell'investimento annuale si divide la somma in quote uguali, una per ogni socio agricolo iscritto, ma noi tutti sappiamo che chi può permetterselo contribuirà dando un pò di più della quota per agevolare chi invece non avrà le stesse possibilità e contribuirà con una somma minore ma garantendosi la stessa quantità di alimenti durante l'anno. Quest'anno ad esempio abbiamo saturato il piano economico al primo giro di distribuzione delle quote addirittura con 600 euro di avanzo che potremo investire per migliorare il nostro progetto"

"In campo la maggior parte del lavoro viene fatto dai volontari che ad esempio raccolgono e ci aiutano a preparare le varie cassette con le differenti colture a seconda delle varie stagioni e che poi saranno portate nei vari centri di ritiro in tutta Roma dove si recheranno i soci fruitori per ritirare la loro spesa in base ad un elenco che noi forniamo ed è lo stesso per tutti i membri: la spesa, i soci, la fanno autonomamente prendendo loro stessi dalle varie cassette i prodotti che leggono nell'elenco. Anche quì abbiamo inserito un semplice meccanismo cooperativo e sociale per evitare che le persone che possono arrivare solo a fine giornata presso il punto di ritiro, magari trovino colture un pò più scartate dagli altri che hanno fatto prima di loro la spesa e quindi hanno avuto più scelta di prodotti. Il primo socio della giornata quando si reca al punto di ritiro prima di prendere la sua cassetta deve preparare quella per il socio successivo in maniera che dal quel momento in poi tutti gli altri soci trovino la loro cassetta già pronta e devono però preparare quella per il socio seguente. Funziona benissimo e tutti noi siamo contenti. I punti sono i più disparati sparsi in tutta Roma: un vivaio, un paio di parrocchie, una casa privata di un socio, una casa famiglia, ecc..."

When The first member of the day, he goes to the collection point before taking his foods box he must prepare the one for the next member so that from that moment on all the other members will find their ready-made foods box and will must however prepare a foods box for the following member. This mechanism It works very well and everyone is happy. The foods sharing points are the most disparate; a garden center, a couple of parishes, a member's private home, a family home etc ... "
“Semi di comunità” è l’esempio pratico di come l’alimentazione cosciente possa iniziare fin dalla semina degli alimenti, che poi diventano gli alimenti di tutti gli iscritti. Chiunque si può iscrivere al piano annuale come socio fruitore ritirando settimanalmente la propria cassetta nei punti di ritiro oppure, grazie ad una quota minore, si può diventare soci semplici e aderire a tutte le loro iniziative agricole ma anche alle manifestazioni diverse dalla semina e dalla raccolta che si organizzano durante tutto l’anno sulle terre della comunità. Un gruppo di persone coeso e sempre in movimento nell’organizzare sia la parte agricola che quella dedicata agli eventi in campo aperto; talmente attivi che devo ammettere di essermi fatto coinvolgere nelle loro attività e posata la telecamera ho dato una mano anche io. Che bella gente ho incontrato e che meravigliosa qualità di vita sociale e di alimentazione: ricordiamoci che anche l'anima si nutre dei nostri sorrisi che incontrano quelli degli altri e non è una poesia ma è la vita che migliora.
"Semi di comunità" is the practical example of how conscious nutrition can start from the idea of sowing food which then becomes the food of all members. Anyone can enroll in the annual plan as a farmer member and therefore user of the foods to be picked up weekly at the collection points or, thanks to a smaller fee, anyone can be simple members and adhere to all the agricultural and not rural initiatives organized during the year on the lands of the community. A group of people cohesive and always on the move in organizing both the agricultural part and that dedicated to events in the open field; so active that I have to admit that I got involved in their activities and after putted the camera down I helped them to maka a litle work too ... What beautiful people I met and what a wonderful quality of life and power of food.
